Before you ask your aunty

Is BAWAAL really anonymous?
Yes. No email, phone or PII is required. Your anonymous ID is generated randomly and stored on your device. Anonymity is why we also ask you not to post details that identify someone in real life.
Is the AI chat private?
Your chat history is saved only on your device and never stored on our servers. To generate a reply, your message is sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) under strict processing terms. We do not use it to train AI models.
When does the app launch and how much does it cost?
We are preparing app-store releases for iOS and Android — this page will get working download buttons the day they exist. BAWAAL is free at launch, with no ads.
What if someone posts something harmful?
Community guidelines ban harassment, hate speech, doxxing and illegal content. Automated moderation plus reports from users; violations get content removed and accounts suspended. Losing your device means losing that account — there is no identity for us to verify against.
Can someone find out who I am?
Nothing in the app links a post to your real identity — we never collect a name, phone or email, and doxxing is banned by the community guidelines. The honest gap: if you share details only you would know, no app can un-anonymise you. Post smart.
What gets moderated, and how?
An automated blocked-words filter checks posts and comments the moment they land, every post can be reported by users, and you can delete your own posts any time. Deleted posts vanish from the app immediately, and all content is encrypted while stored.
